“wash” bottles

No, this isn’t a picture of some science experiment I am doing on the kitchen table although these are “wash bottles” often used in labs. They will be filled with water and be handed to me by a friend at drink stations in the marathon. These inexpensive little squeezable bottles are my solution to the fact that it is very difficult to drink from a paper cup while running – you either wind up snorting and coughing your way through the next 1/2 mile or spilling it all. Today I will practice drinking from them on my final run of any significant distance (a ten-miler)
